When purchasing firewood for heating a room, not every buyer seriously thinks about what kind of wood they are made from. But this information is necessary to evaluate the properties of logs as energy carriers. 

What is hard rock
Wood is usually divided into soft, medium and hard. The latter breeds include:

oak;
nut;
pear;
yew.

They are best able to warm up the room, since they have the highest energy consumption, they leave less ash and are stored longer. Hard woods are used for heating in a bath, living quarters, cooking, since the coals formed from firewood retain heat for a long time.
